Civility Workshop: Braver Angels Debate

Wednesday, November 12, 12:15-1:30 p.m. Clifton Court Hall 5280.
Lunch provided. Registration suggested.

In a Braver Angels Debate, the point isn’t to win; it’s to understand the other side a little better. Led by a specially trained Debate Chair, the format encourages everyone to participate, to support good faith, accurate disagreement, and to promote better understanding for all. As we debate the resolution, “sports gambling should be illegal,” students from across the ideological spectrum will have an opportunity to speak and ask their questions. Join us – tell us what you have experienced and what you think!

Chaired by Robyn Brands, Greater Cincinnati Braver Angels Alliance Co-Chair
Co-led by Eugene Rutz, Associate Dean Emeritus and Braver Angels Moderator, with Portman Center Undergraduate Fellows Alexander Caldwell, Leen Ciba, Avery Cook-Porter, and Clare Graff

This event is presented by the Portman Center for Policy Solutions in partnership with the Cincinnati Alliance of Braver Angels, and in collaboration with the Warren Bennis Leadership Institute, Cincinnati Ethics Center, University Honors, and UC Libraries.
